Just a few thoughts on tonights AFL-CIO Presidential Forum on MSNBC.
I have not watched many of the debates up to this time except for a portion of the YouTube debate. The YouTube debate was more of a novelty. It was interesting but it lacked the energy, passion and excitment of tonight’s forum. This one was fun to watch. The 15,000 union members in the audience were an integral part of making this work. Their questions were real and relevant. I am a union member and have been know to be critical of some of the actions of the national AFL-CIO organization but tonight they got it right. Kieth Olbermann was an excellant choice as moderator and he kept the debate moving at a fast pace.
Who won? Who lost? I’ll let the poltical pundits fight over that. The definite winners are the working class of this country and the AFL-CIO.
If you missed it you can watch the video on MSNBC here. Check out more of the candidates views by clicking on the Working Families Vote 2008 button at the bottom right of this page.
